This area is home to a lot of smaller lakes, but it does have several good-sized lakes that are plenty big enough to hold good populations of a variety of fish with some big fish too.
We organized the larger lakes by size. We listed the lakes that are 500 acres and bigger below.
Yellow Lake
Yellow Lake is a 2,283 acre lake located in Burnett County. It has a maximum depth of 31 feet. Fish include muskie, panfish, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, northern pike, walleye, sturgeon and catfish. According to the DNR, muskie and walleye are abundant in the lake. Panfish and northern pike are considered common while all other species of fish are listed as present.
Big Sand Lake
Big Sand Lake is a 1,434 acre lake located in Burnett County. It has a maximum depth of 55 feet. Fish include panfish, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, northern pike and walleye. According to the DNR, largemouth bass and northern pike are abundant in the lake while smallmouth bass, walleye and panfish are considered present.
Clam Lake
Clam Lake is a 1,338 acre lake located in Burnett County. It has a maximum depth of 11 feet. Fish include panfish, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, northern pike, walleye, sturgeon and catfish. According to the DNR, northern pike are abundant in the lake. Panfish and largemouth bass are considered common in the lake while smallmouth bass and walleye are present.
McKenzie Lake
McKenzie Lake is a 1,129 acre lake located in Burnett, Washburn Counties. It has a maximum depth of 71 feet. Fish include muskie, panfish, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, northern pike, walleye and sturgeon. According to the DNR, muskie, northern pike and walleye are abundant in the lake. Panfish and largemouth bass are considered common while smallmouth bass and sturgeon are listed as present.
Devils Lake
Devils Lake is a 975 acre lake located in Burnett County. It has a maximum depth of 24 feet. Fish include panfish, largemouth bass, northern pike and walleye. According to the DNR, walleye are abundant in the lake. Largemouth bass and northern pike are considered common while panfish are listed as present.
Sand Lake
Sand Lake is a 900 acre lake located in Burnett County. It has a maximum depth of 73 feet. Fish include panfish, largemouth bass, northern pike and walleye. According to the DNR, northern pike are abundant in the lake. Largemouth bass and walleye are considered common while panfish are listed as present.
Birch Island Lake
Birch Island Lake is a 768 acre lake located in Burnett County. It has a maximum depth of 13 feet. Fish include panfish, largemouth bass and northern pike. Largemouth bass are abundant in this lake while panfish and northern pike are considered common.
Webb Lake
Webb Lake is a 756 acre lake located in Burnett County. It has a maximum depth of 31 feet. Fish include panfish, largemouth bass and northern pike. According to the DNR, panfish are abundant in the lake while largemouth bass and northern pike are considered common.
Spirit Lake
Spirit Lake is a 592 acre lake located in Burnett County. It has a maximum depth of 27 feet. Fish include panfish, largemouth bass and northern pike. All species are considered common according to the DNR.
Mud Hen Lake
Mud Hen Lake is a 569 acre lake located in Burnett County. It has a maximum depth of 66 feet. Fish include largemouth bass, panfish and northern pike. According to the DNR, largemouth bass are abundant in the lake. Panfish and northern pike are considered common.
Middle McKenzie Lake
Middle McKenzie Lake is a 527 acre lake located in Burnett, Washburn Counties. It has a maximum depth of 45 feet. Fish include muskie, panfish, largemouth bass, northern pike and walleye. According to the DNR, muskie, panfish, largemouth bass, northern pike and walleye are all considered common in the lake.
Wood Lake
Wood Lake is a 521 acre lake located in Burnett County. It has a maximum depth of 35 feet. Fish include panfish, largemouth bass and northern pike. According to the DNR, panfish are abundant in the lake. Largemouth bass and northern pike are considered common.
