Bream or Sunfish (Bluegill, Redear, Pumpkinseed, etc.)
Bluegill and other sunfish can be found in good numbers on many of the Brainerd area lakes. Bluegill up to 10 inches are caught on many different lakes here. Many of the smaller lakes will go through cycles, but some of the bigger lakes will give anglers a good chance to find enough keeper-sized bluegill for a fish fry.

Crappie
Crappie are found in many of the lakes in the area. Big crappie up to 13 inches and even bigger are caught here too. If you are looking to target crappie, there are plenty of lakes to fish in the Brainerd area.

Yellow Perch
Many of the lakes in the area have perch in them. Some lakes are home to some quality jumbo perch, but for many of the lakes here, you will have to sort through a lot of smaller perch to find some keeper-sized fish.
