The Bradenton area is a very populated area, however, there is still some very good inshore fishing throughout the waters around Bradenton, Anna Maria Island and Longboat Key. This area is known for its excellent shallow water fishing for redfish, sea trout, flounder, sheepshead, snook and more. There are so many good fishing spots such as bridges, passes, grass flats, docks, canals and more.

Nearshore Fishing
The nearshore fishing is very good in this area. Whether you head just outside the bay or run along the beaches, there are a variety of fish that you can target here in the nearshore waters. Some of the popular fish to catch are tarpon, grouper, snapper, kingfish, cobia, goliath grouper and several others depending on the season. The time of year will dictate what fish will be more prevalent, but you can catch fish nearshore year-round off the beaches of Anna Maria Island and Longboat Key.

Deep Sea / Offshore Fishing
The fishing is very good offshore in the Bradenton, Florida area. Many of the offshore fishing charters will take off from the Tampa Bay area and its beaches up north, however, you can find some charters in the Anna Maria Island area that will get you out to the offshore waters as well.
