Find the Current Breaks

The current breaks are key when river fishing.  Yellow bass can be found in current, but they prefer no current to moderate current over the fast currents that are found in some rivers.  The current breaks are great because all kinds of food gets washed on by and the yellow bass can easily go into the current to grab a meal then back into the calmer waters to rest.

Fish the Backwaters

The backwaters can also be productive if there is enough depth in them.  Fish close to where the current moves into these areas and you will probably have better luck.

Bridges Can Be Awesome

Bridges are good fish attractors and yellow bass will use them too.  You can usually find the yellow bass stacked up behind the bridge pilings in the slack water, however, at times, you can catch them on all sides of the pilings and in between the pilings.
