The communities of Phelps, Conover and the Land O' Lakes are smaller towns located
in the northwoods of Wisconsin. They are situated near the border of Wisconsin and
the the upper peninsula of Michigan just north of Eagle River. This area is a nice place
to get away from it all. There are a variety of accommodations nestled amidst the
natural beauty of the lakes and forests. Some of the bigger lakes in this area are North
Twin lake, South Twin lake and Lac Vieux Desert. There are many smaller lakes, rivers
and streams in the area as well. The fishing is good from the opener through winter.
Walleye and Muskie are the dominant species. Smallmouth and largemouth bass,
northern pike and panfish are in the area lakes also.
