Lake Placid is located in the northeastern part of the Adirondacks Mountains. Visitors
will find many types of lodging and activities such as golf, fishing, river rafting and hiking
in the area. Many anglers come to this area to experience the fly fishing in nearby
rivers and streams of the Adirondacks Mountains. Fly fishing is very good in the
Ausable River, but there are also other rivers and streams to choose from. Most
fishermen come here for the trout fishing, but you can also catch smallmouth bass,
walleye and northern pike in the nearby waters.
