Lake Gogebic, at 13,380 acres, is Michigan's largest inland lake. It lies at the far
western end of the upper peninsula of Michigan. The lake is very popular for a variety
of activities such as fishing, boating and camping. There are many resorts, lodges,
vacation rentals and cabins on the lake to accommodate you on your vacation. The
fishing is excellent on Lake Gogebic. There are fishing guides available, although
many fishermen do fine without them. Because of the size of the lake, booking a guide
for the first day of your trip can make a huge difference in how many fish you catch.
Some of the fish that anglers target are walleye, smallmouth bass, northern pike, jumbo
perch and whitefish.
