There aren't too many destinations in Florida that can offer as much as the St.
Petersburg / Clearwater area.  Their are plenty of beautiful beaches, a great downtown
scene, shopping, restaurants and tons of recreational opportunities.  Not only is this a
great family destination, it provides fishermen with so many options for saltwater fishing.
 Numerous fishing guides and charters are available for inshore and offshore fishing.  If
you don't plan on fishing from a boat, you can try some surf fishing or pier fishing.  St.
Petersburg has the Skyway Pier, which consists of two piers, the South Skyway Pier
and the North Skyway Pier.  If you are in the right spots, you can catch some
trophy-sized fish from the piers.  Big Pier 60 in Clearwater is another good pier for
fishing.
