when you come down here. There are a number of good fishing
lakes nearby and Walt Disney World also offers some guided
fishing excursions. Largemouth bass average 2 to 3 pounds in
most area lakes with many fish in the 5 to 7 pound range and
some over 10 pounds. Many Orlando visitors like to head over to
the beach for a day or two. If you are looking to get into some
saltwater fishing, we have visitor guides for those destinations as
well. The closest beach towns on the Atlantic side are Daytona
Beach, New Smyrna Beach and the Space Coast towns of Cocoa
Beach, Cape Canaveral, Titusville and Melbourne. From
downtown Orlando, it will take an hour to an hour and a half to get
to these areas. You have some options of surf fishing along the
beaches, fishing the Indian river or booking a fishing guide or
charter for some excellent inshore or offshore fishing. For more
information on fishing Orlando, check out the Orlando Fishing 101
section.
