Fishing with Live Bait & Natural Baits
Sand perch are very colorful. They have blue cheek lines and orange throughout their body.
How to Catch Sand Perch
In some areas, you’re going to find a lot more pinfish than sand perch and in some areas, you will find schools of sand perch. A sabiki rig usually works well. You can also just use a single hook and weight with a piece of shrimp or cut bait. A simple drop shot rig works well.
Using Sand Perch as Bait
Sand Perch are great baits for so many species of fish. Many anglers use them for grouper, trout, redfish and snook, but these are just some of the fish that will eat these baits. Use them on your favorite live bait rig and make sure you have the proper hook size for the size of the fish you are using.
