Weather

The weather does play a role in perch fishing, however, if you can find them, you can usually catch them throughout the day and in most weather conditions.  A severe cold front may affect the fishing negatively just like with other species of fish, however, a light rain, winds, clouds and sun can slightly change where you are going to find the fish, but it won’t keep you from catching them if you know how to fish for perch.

For example, if you find a nice deep weed edge or a drop-off that holds a bunch of perch in the summer or fall, you should be able to catch them there whether it is sunny, cloudy, windy, rainy, etc.  It is more important to find where the fish are at on any given day.  When you find them, you can usually catch them.
