Panfish

The crappie fishing is very good on Norfork Lake, especially during the spring crappie spawn.  When these fish move into the shallows, many anglers go out and target these tasty fish.  Throughout the rest of the year, these fish will be found deeper and with the clear water, they may be deeper than you are used to fishing for crappie.  While they are much harder to find when they go deep, if you do find a school of them, they can be exciting to catch.  For bluegill, the fishing can be good in the spring when they move into the shallows.  Once they go deep though, they are a little harder to find the numbers of fish that most anglers would be used to finding on some of the better bluegill lakes.  If you want to target bluegill and other bream, find the many fish cribs on this lake and you’ll have better success.
