Cooper Landing, Alaska

Cooper Landing is located on the Kenai Peninsula, about 100 miles south of Anchorage.  This small town offers a lot to its visitors.  The scenery is breathtaking.  If you drive here from Anchorage, you will see mountains with plenty of scenery and wildlife such as sheep, goats, maybe even bears and more. You will also have a view of the inlet which offers the chance of seeing whales.

Anglers come here for the annual spawning runs up the Kenai river.  During the summer, anglers experience some of the best salmon fishing anywhere in the world.  You can target a variety of salmon such as king, silver and sockeye to go along with rainbow trout and dolly varden.

Upstream of the bridge, the river leads to Kenai Lake, which is a beautiful lake and the headwaters of the Kenai River.
