Welcome to our Lake Nipigon Fishing Home Page

Lake Nipigon is the largest lake entirely within the boundaries of the Canadian province of Ontario.  It is part of the Great Lake drainage basin.  It is huge and wide open for the most part with the exception of a few islands.  When the wind blows though, those islands aren’t going to help you as much as you would like them to.  If you do a trip here, come with the right sized boat or hire a charter or make sure you have a game plan to hit the smaller area lakes when the wind is blowing hard.

Primary Species of Fish

Walleye, Northern Pike, Lake Trout & Brook Trout

It is known for its excellent lake trout and brook trout.  It’s a unique fishery by having so many trophy sized trout here in this lake that many people come here for the trout and overlook the other fish.  The walleye and northern pike fishery is awesome here too with lots of fish and many big fish too.  If it didn’t have any trout in it, the lake would still be awesome, but mix in the trout and this lake is definitely one of the more unique lakes to fish in Ontario.
