Lake Conroe is a large lake covering 21,000 acres in Montgomery County, Texas.  Even though it is named Lake Conroe, only a small portion of the lake is in Conroe, Texas while the majority of the lake is located in unincorporated Montgomery County.  It is only about an hour drive from nearby Houston, so this lake attracts plenty of visitors who enjoy boating, fishing and just being around the water.



Primary Species of Fish


Largemouth Bass, Catfish, Crappie, White Bass, Hybrid Striped Bass

Largemouth bass are the most pursued fish in the lake and there are good numbers of them with big bass too.  Channel catfish are here in large numbers and big catfish are in the lake as well.  Crappie, white bass and hybrid striped bass are in Lake Conroe, which gives anglers lots of options for catching fish here.
