Nearshore Fishing
The Crystal River area has lots of nearshore rocky structures that hold a lot of fish. Anglers can actually find some of these structures in clear water and sight fish for grouper. You can find structure and fish in just 8 to 10 feet of water here. There is plenty of structure as you go deeper as well. Some of the other fish you may find around the nearshore structure are mangrove snapper, sheepshead, jacks and more.

The target species will vary depending on the seasons, but this area will provide plenty of action year-round. Some of the fish you can catch here offshore are grouper, snapper, cobia, king mackerel, permit, amberjack, sharks and others.
