Morning

Other variables can dictate whether or not the bite will be good in the morning, but the lowlight conditions during the morning usually offer good fishing for crappie.  Crappie will often be very active in the morning and if you can find a school of these fish, you should be able to catch a bunch of them.  During the early spring, fishing during the morning can be tough with the cooler water temperatures, so an afternoon or evening bite may be better.  Once water temperatures rise above and stay above the mid 50s, you should be able to find plenty of active crappie during the morning from spring through fall.
