Panfish

Sunfish (Bluegill, Redear, Pumpkinseed, Rock Bass, etc.)

Bluegill are definitely secondary here as well as other sunfish similar to bluegill.  However, rock bass can be found throughout the area in good numbers.  If you fish with worms, you will probably run into plenty of rock bass with some quality fish too.

Crappie

Crappie are available in the area lakes, however, they are definitely a secondary species of fish.  Don’t expect to catch a lot of them consistently out here.  You may run into a nice school of fish every once in a while and you may be able to find decent numbers of them when they are easier to find in the spring.  However, this is definitely more of a walleye, smallmouth bass, pike and perch destination.

Yellow Perch

Perch are the primary panfish in the area lakes up here.  If you are using live baits such as worms and smaller minnows, you will most likely catch some perch.  There are some quality perch here too, but you’re going to have to sort through the smaller ones to find the quality fish that you’d like to keep for a fish fry.
