Lake Texoma (OK & TX) is one of the largest reservoirs in the United States.  Located along the Oklahoma – Texas border, this lake covers over 89,000 surface acres.  Lake Texoma is extremely popular and it has some of the best striped bass fishing in the country.

Beaver Lake (AR) is known for its striped bass fishing.  There are numerous guides available and it is not uncommon to get your limit with a guide.  Many stripers will be over 10 pounds and there are fish caught in the 20 to 30 pound range all the time.  We have even seen pictures of striped bass over 40 pounds caught from Beaver Lake.

Norfork Lake (AR) – One of the most popular vacation spots in the Ozarks.  A good multi species lake with some good striped bass fishing.

Lake Cumberland (KY) – Located in southern Kentucky, this has been a great striped bass lake for a long time and it continues to be very good today.  Stripers from 5 to 15 pounds are common with many fish in the 20 to 30 pound class.

Lake Murray (SC) – Located in South Carolina, this is a big lake and it’s a popular recreational lake.  The fishing is very good for striped bass to go along with several other species of fish.

Smith Mountain Lake (VA) – Located southeast of Roanoke, Virginia, this is  popular lake and it is known for its excellent striped bass fishing.

Lake Powell (AZ & UT) – This is a great lake for catching a lot of striped bass.  Big numbers with some big fish available make it such a great lake to target stripers.

Bull Shoals Lake (MO & AR) – This is a big fish lake for stripers, however, they are now doing a more consistent stocking program, so it should be a better lake for numbers in the future too.

Lake Lanier (GA) – This lake is well known for producing good numbers of striped bass with plenty of big fish mixed in too.  Stripers in the 30 to 40 pound range and even bigger are available here.


Montauk (NY) – Located on the most easter part of Long Island in New York, Montauk is a popular tourist destination with some outstanding saltwater fishing.  This area is famous for its excellent striped bass fishing.  Huge striped bass are common here as anglers come here for the chance to catch one in the 40 to 50 pound range.

Ocean City (MD) – Located in Maryland, this is a great fishing vacation destination that offers anglers so many fishing opportunities.  The striped bass fishing is very good and there are many fishing charters available to put you on some of these giant fish.

Outer Banks (NC) – Located in North Carolina, the Outer Banks are home to some fantastic fishing and this is an awesome beach vacation destination.  Striped bass come through this area pretty thick, but it is a seasonal run.  During the peak of the run, the fishing can be awesome for striped bass.

Cape Cod (MA) – Located in the easternmost portion of Massachusetts.  A popular beach vacation destination with some awesome striped bass fishing.

Gloucester (MA) – Located on Cape Ann in Essex County of Massachusetts.  It is a part of Boston’s north shore and it is a popular summer resort town.  The striped bass fishing is excellent here with many charters also fishing for cod, haddock, bluefish, shark and tuna.

Martha’s Vineyard (MA) – Located just south of Cape Cod.  A popular summer vacation destination with some excellent fishing for striped bass.

Nantucket (MA) is an island 30 miles south of Cape Cod and just east of Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts.  Nantucket is a major tourist destination with good fishing for striped bass.

Virginia Beach is the most populous city in all of Virginia with more than 430,000 people.  Located on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean, this city is known as a very popular resort town with miles of beaches and plenty of hotels, motels and restaurants along the oceanfront.  Because of its easy access to the Atlantic Ocean and Chesapeake Bay, fishermen can catch a variety of inshore or offshore species here, but the striped bass fishing definitely stands out.
