The Atlantic Croaker is a silvery-bodied fish with dark markings and tiny barbells. It is common in Atlantic waters south of Massachusetts. They are a great bait for still-fishing on the bottom or just above the bottom. Some species that like to eat Atlantic Croaker are grouper, striped bass, sea trout, bluefish, flounder and even shark.

Use a small single hook with pieces of cut bait and shrimp.
Using Atlantic Croaker as Bait
Fish it alive or as cut bait for a variety of fish. With the live croaker, you can use weightless rigs or your favorite bottom rigs depending on the depth of water you are fishing and what species you are targeting. For cut bait, rig it on your favorite bottom rig.
