Shore Fishing (Jetties, Piers, Surf)


Anglers have so much water to fish here from shore.  There are some smaller fishing piers and some shore fishing spots along the river that anglers take advantage of.  Below, we are listing some of the best spots available that give anglers more options for catching a variety of fish.  You have some large bridges and a lot of shoreline to fish here.


Bridge & Pier Fishing


Eastpoint Fishing Pier (Old St. George Island Bridge)


The Eastpoint Fishing Pier is the old St. George Island Bridge and it is now available for anglers to fish.  It is a good location and the bridge offers plenty of space for many anglers to get out here and fish.  Anglers catch a variety of different fish here such as redfish, trout, sheepshead, black drum, flounder, sharks and more.

The St. George Island Fishing Pier gives anglers a long pier with access to some excellent fishing in the bay.


Surf Fishing


St. George Island State Park


The St. George Island State Park is a great place to enjoy the beaches.  Anglers surf fish for many different types of fish, but whiting and pompano are very popular when they are running.  Other fish you may catch are Spanish mackerel, redfish, sea trout, sheepshead, flounder and more.


St. George Island Beaches


St. George Island has miles of beaches and this area is very popular for vacation rentals.  If you are staying at one of the rentals here, you will probably just head outside and walk down to the beach to start fishing.  The beaches are beautiful and the fishing can be very good here, especially during the warmer months of the area.
